・Domestically produced tea whisks use Japanese-grown hachiku bamboo, harvested in winter and left to rest for over a year before being dried and crafted into products.
Tea whisks made overseas are not dried, so they may contain preservatives and mold inhibitors.
・There are also differences in manufacturing methods.
For domestically produced tea whisks, craftsmen thinly shave each one with a small knife, while for overseas tea whisks, shaving is done with a file.
Shaving with a file is easier and quicker, but it leaves fine scratches on the surface of the tip, making the tip more prone to breaking.
