Banko-Yaki Kyusu Teapot, Red with Bottom Mesh Strainer

Product description

Bottom-mesh tea strainers — Summary

Advantages
- Improves flavor on the second steeping.
- Allows tea leaves to spread easily, aiding extraction.
- Generally affordable.

Cautions
- Used tea leaves can be somewhat awkward to discard.
- Because the bottom of the strainer isn’t visible, soak-cleaning with baking soda or a bleach solution regularly is recommended.

FAQ
- Dishwasher safe? No. The material is absorbent and can soak up detergents.
- How does it compare to other strainers? The bottom-mesh design is recommended for people who want good flavor at a reasonable price. Models with removable strainers prioritize ease of use; those attached to the spout emphasize maximum flavor.
