Introduction to the painting style of Kutani ware: Yoshidaya, founded by Denemon Toyota (approximately 180 years ago), aimed to revive the ancient Kutani style. The Yoshidaya kiln adopted the painted application style of Aote Kokuya, using a palette of blue (green), yellow, purple, and dark blue without any red. It features intricate patterns as well as small motifs, filling the entire surface of the vessels with paint, resulting in a heavy and unique style that exudes a distinctive atmosphere.
Kutani ware is highly regarded globally as one of Japan's top three colored porcelain arts and is recognized as a representative traditional craft of Japan, "Japan Kutani."
This is a popular item from the well-known kiln Seikogama: the "Mamezara Masterpiece Collection (single piece)." It is a palm-sized dish, perfect for everyday use as a soy sauce dish or for serving dishes. The Mamezara Masterpiece Collection features designs of the representative masterpieces of Kutani ware, akin to those found in museums, in small plates. These stylish Japanese dishes will enhance your dining table beautifully!
