Introduction to the Kutani ware technique: Ginsai. A sublime color that words cannot fully express. This design involves applying transparent glaze or five-color glaze over silver leaf. It features a calm brilliance, gentle shimmer, and glass-like texture. Contrary to its dazzling appearance, which requires an extra firing in the kiln, it is a highly intricate technique. *Technically, it is not silver leaf. Due to its thinness, silver leaf would melt; therefore, this technique uses a thickness about seven times that of silver leaf, making it a truly luxurious method.
