The color of the brewed tea is a beautiful, deep green, yet its taste is smooth and not astringent. This is the characteristic of Japanese tea known as "koku-maroyaka," or "Koi Maro Tea." With the desire to make Japanese tea more delicious and easier to enjoy, we first conducted a survey to gather customers' ideal perceptions of Japanese tea.

The results revealed that 75% of respondents preferred "a deep green color for Japanese tea," while 71% sought "a rich and smooth flavor." The ideal Japanese tea that customers are looking for is "koku-maroyaka." Thus, the development of "Koi Maro Tea" began. However, achieving a deeper color in Japanese tea often results in a more astringent taste, while creating a smooth flavor tends to lighten the color. After three years of trial and error, we finally reached a Japanese tea that aligns with the ideal of "deep color and smooth taste."

We use 100% first-grade tea leaves. The blend includes fragrant young steamed sencha, a rich-flavored and dark steamed sencha, and gyokuro, renowned for its umami and deep richness. By skillfully harmonizing these three distinctive flavors and blending them with premium Uji matcha, we enhance the qualities of each ingredient, achieving an elegant mouthfeel and vibrant green color. It truly represents the ideal taste of being "rich yet smooth and not astringent."
