Introduction to the Painting Style of Kutani Ware: The early Kutani style, known as "Kokutani," was promoted by the Daishoji domain around the middle of the Meireki era (1655). It was guided by the master of Japanese painting, Kano Motonobu, and employs five colors: blue (green), yellow, red, purple, and deep blue. It is characterized by boldly composed paintings with freely yet delicately drawn lines, making it one of the most representative styles of Kutani ware.
Kutani ware is highly regarded worldwide as one of Japan's three major colored porcelain, and as a representative traditional craft of Japan, "Japan Kutani."
Perfect for Instagram! This is the "Mamezara Masterpiece Collection (Single Item)" from the popular kiln Seikogama. The palm-sized dish is ideal for daily use as a soy sauce dish or for serving food.
