Introduction to the Painting Style of Kutani Ware: The "Kokutani" style, founded by Goto Saijiro around 360 years ago, was promoted by the Daishoji Domain around the Meireki era (1655). It was guided by the master of Japanese painting, Kano Motonobu, and utilizes five colors: blue (green), yellow, red, purple, and deep blue. The bold compositions, artistically completed and characterized by free yet delicate lines, exemplify the quintessential style of Kutani.
Kutani ware is highly regarded globally as one of Japan's three major colored porcelain traditions and as a representative traditional craft of Japan, "Japan Kutani."
It's Instagram-friendly! This is a product from the popular kiln Seiko-gama, featuring the “Bean Plate Masterpiece Collection (single item).” It's perfect for everyday use, functioning as a soy sauce dish or for serving food, with a handy palm-sized design. The Bean Plate Masterpiece Collection has designed small plates that represent Kutani ware masterpieces, akin to those found in museums. They are stylish Japanese tableware that will brighten up your dining table!
