Introduction to the painting style of Kutani ceramics: The early Kutani, known as "Kokutani," was promoted by the Daishoji Domain around the Keian era (1655) and was founded by Goho Saijiro (about 360 years ago). It was influenced by the master painter Kano Mokuji, known for his Japanese painting style, and features a palette of five colors: blue (green), yellow, red, purple, and navy blue. The bold composition, completed in a pictorial manner, combined with free yet delicate lines, can be described as the most characteristic style of Kutani.
Kutani ceramics are highly regarded globally as one of Japan's top three colored porcelain types and as a representative traditional craft of Japan, known as 'Japan Kutani.'
Perfect for Instagram! This is a “Small Plate Masterpiece Collection (Single Item)” from the popular Kōkōyaki kiln. It is an ideal hand-sized dish for everyday use, perfect for serving soy sauce or dividing dishes.
