This elegant Edo Kiriko glass features warm amber-colored glass on the inside, creating a beautiful contrast between two colors. The rim is decorated with the **Yotsuba-mon** pattern, representing a four-leaf clover, a symbol of good fortune, love, sincerity, and hope.
The base pattern, **Yarai Nanako-mon**, is also a traditional motif associated with good fortune. “Yarai” refers to bamboo or logs arranged in an alternating lattice, symbolizing the creation of a strong foundation and a firm base. “Nanako” means fish scales; because fish have many scales, the pattern represents abundance, prosperity, and fertility.
Edo Kiriko originated during the Edo period and is designated as a traditional Japanese craft, valued for preserving the lifestyle and culture of old Edo. Each piece is individually handcrafted by a skilled artisan.
