Introduction to Kutani ware techniques: Ginsai (銀彩) - An ultimate color that cannot be fully expressed in words. This design involves applying transparent glaze and five-color glazes over silver foil. It is characterized by a subdued brilliance, gentle shine, and a glass-like texture. Despite its dazzling appearance, it requires a more intricate technique as it must be fired one additional time than usual. *Technically, this is not made with silver foil. Due to the thinness of regular silver foil, it would melt; therefore, this technique uses a luxurious thickness that is about seven times that of silver foil.
