Our Story

Japan has spent centuries perfecting the art of making — from the subtle curves of Bizen-yaki ceramics to the golden repair of Kintsugi, from the quiet ritual of the tea ceremony to the warmth of lacquerware passing between generations.

We created CHAWARE to share this living heritage with people who appreciate objects that are both beautiful and meaningful. Our name comes from chawan (茶碗) — the Japanese tea bowl, a symbol of the harmony between function and beauty.
