Founded in 1956 in Tokyo’s Koto Ward by Shotaro Tajima as a glass tableware manufacturer, Tajima Glass Co., Ltd. established its own factory in Matsue, Edogawa Ward, in 1962. Since then, the company has spent more than half a century creating glassware—including tumblers and wine glasses for professional use—carefully handcrafted piece by piece by skilled artisans in keeping with the changing times.
This Fuji Glass won the Grand Prix and the Commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency Award at the 2015 Omiyage Grand Prix. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship and beauty. The Mt. Fuji design embedded in the bottom of the glass is created using traditional Edo glassmaking techniques and hand-blowing.
