A tasteful tea bowl by traditional craftsperson Shunsou, admired for its depth of character and popular with collectors. Designed as a tasteful piece of tea utensil, it’s an elegant matcha bowl finished in a soft pale yellow with touches of Oribe glaze for a simple yet chic look that makes the green of matcha stand out.
Akazu-yaki (Akazu ware) is a type of Seto ware produced in the Akazu district east of central Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. Seven glazes (ash, iron, old Seto, yellow Seto, Shino, Oribe, and Ofuke) and twelve decorative techniques have been preserved there; Akazu-yaki was designated a government-certified traditional craft in 1977.
