Introduction to Kutani Ware Technique: Ginsai (Silver Glaze) is an unparalleled color that cannot be fully expressed in words. This design involves applying transparent glaze or five-color glaze over a layer of silver. Its characteristics include a calm brilliance, gentle shine, and glass-like texture. Despite its stunning appearance requiring one additional firing in the kiln compared to normal methods, it is quite a labor-intensive technique. *Technically, it is not silver foil; because it would melt if it were as thin as silver foil, this method is a luxurious technique that uses a thickness approximately seven times greater than that of silver foil.
Country of Production: Japan (Ishikawa Prefecture), Material: Ceramic (Kutani Ware)
Kutani ware is highly regarded as one of Japan's three major color-decorated ceramics and represents a traditional craft globally known as "Japan Kutani."
Recommended for gifts: Mother's Day, Father's Day, Respect for the Aged Day, retirement celebrations, celebrations of longevity (e.g., kanreki, koki, shiju, beiju), and more!
